THE BEAUTIFUL WATERFALL IN MY VILLAGE 😍
You can come here by using Pitabeddara Siyambalagoda road or Nil Ella Vatuya road. Elephants can come to dead falls. Both those roads join at the Atumala junction and you can reach Ella after going for another 3 km. This waterfall is created by Nilwala river. It takes a large body of water and falls down, covering the surrounding area with fine pine. The waterfall falls creating a pond. After going around there and crawling under a small group of rocks, we can reach the waterfall, but it is difficult to climb up.
It is said that this is how the waterfall got its name. Elephants used to hang out there because it used to be an elephant stand. One day, an elephant passing through this trail fell down and died, hence the name Elephant Falls. Very beautiful place. Before getting electricity for the village, the villagers have built a power plant together. But then the maintenance was stopped. Later it was given to the regional council and they abandoned it because they could not maintain it. At that time, environmental organizations also influenced it, so the plant was closed and now there are only ruins. Later, the power plant was abandoned because the village received electricity from other sources.
When the power plant is on the road, we can go to the top of the waterfall. The upper river is from there. However, because the river flows up, the upper part of the waterfall is covered with mud and creates a very horrible sight. In general, it is said that the water of Nilwala Ganga is very clean. A place where you can enjoy the wonder of a beautiful waterfall in a very beautiful way. I say that because of the combination of the sounds of birds and the sound of falling water in the waterfall. Go and see without causing havoc.
Wow 😍
