THE BEAUTIFUL WATERFALL IN MY VILLAGE 😍

Image
You can come here by using Pitabeddara Siyambalagoda road or Nil Ella Vatuya road.  Elephants can come to dead falls.  Both those roads join at the Atumala junction and you can reach Ella after going for another 3 km.  This waterfall is created by Nilwala river.  It takes a large body of water and falls down, covering the surrounding area with fine pine.  The waterfall falls creating a pond.  After going around there and crawling under a small group of rocks, we can reach the waterfall, but it is difficult to climb up. It is said that this is how the waterfall got its name.  Elephants used to hang out there because it used to be an elephant stand.  One day, an elephant passing through this trail fell down and died, hence the name Elephant Falls.  Very beautiful place.  Before getting electricity for the village, the villagers have built a power plant together.  But then the maintenance was stopped.  Later it was given ...

Sinharaja forest😍

Image
Part of Sri Lanka's lowland rainforest ecoregion, this virgin montane rainforest has been protected from commercialization due to access difficulties.  The fact that this was named as a biosphere reserve in 1607 and as a world heritage site in 1988 was another reason for that.  The name of the reserve "Sinharajaya" means "Sinharajadahana". The distance from east to west of the reserve is km.  81 and the maximum distance from north to south is KM.  Although 7, it is a safe sanctuary for plant species as well as endemic species including insects, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals. Due to the dense vegetation, wild animals are not easily seen here like in dry zone parks like Yala.  Here you can see the last three elephants of the wet zone, and leopards are rarely seen. Recently, a rare black leopard (tiger) died and the largest mammal that can be seen is the Sri Lankan gray monkey. One inspiring phenomenon is the tendency of birds to behave in co...

CAKES🎂

Image
cake is a type of usually sweet dessert which is baked. Originally, it was a bread-like food, but no longer. Cakes are often made to celebrate special occasions like birthdays or weddings. There are many kinds of cakes. It can be baked in an oven. Some cakes are made on a griddle or a frying pan. Cakes are baked from a batter. Batter is made by mixing wet ingredients (like milk and eggs) with dry ingredients (like sugar and flour). The batter is baked in an oven. This way of baking is known as the muffin method, because muffins are made this way. Just like bread, cakes rise in the oven because they contain many small air bubbles. As cakes rise, the air bubbles expand. This is why the cake batter expands in the pan (often to twice its original size). There are two ways of forming the air bubbles, which create different types of cakes. Almost every kind of cake belongs to one of these families. Creamed fat cakes are made with butter or another fat, like vegetable shortening. ...

The Violin❤️

Image
The violin is the smallest and highest pitched string instrument typically used in western music.[3] A person who plays the violin is called a violinist. A person who makes or repairs violins is called a luthier. The violin is important in European and Arabian music. No other instrument has played such an important part in Europe. The modern violin is about 400 years old. Similar string instruments have been around for almost 1000 years. By the time the modern orchestras started to form in the 17th century, the violin was nearly fully developed. It became the most important orchestral instrument - in fact, nearly half of the instruments in the orchestra is made up of violins, which are divided into two parts: "first violins" and "second violins". Nearly every composer wrote for the violin, whether as a solo instrument, in chamber music, in orchestral music, folk music, and even in jazz. The violin is sometimes called a “fiddle...
